Marlon Martinez
Marlon is a PlanAdapt Fellow, based in Berlin, Germany.
He is an experienced policy and business analyst with substantial project management and business development experience. In 2016 he co-founded and since then managed Nauki – Responsible Sourcing, a company dedicated to the sustainable sourcing of natural ingredients for the cosmetic sector. His work focuses on agricultural value-chains, developing partnerships and sales strategies based on transparency and traceability solutions. He also works on digitalization and blockchain in agriculture. He is a regular analyst for the Economist Intelligence Units (EIU) public policy, economics and politics consulting practice since 2015 where he worked on published projects including the Migration Governance Indicators (IOM), Infrascope: PPPs in infrastructure (ADB) or disaster risk-sensitive investments (UNDRR) as well as a number of studies for foundations, public and private sector clients. He also supported The Climate Service evaluating asset-level data availability for climate risk analysis to help measure, monitor, and manage the financial impacts of climate on business and investments. In his prior career, Marlon founded and managed a German language service provider working for a wide array of commercial clients.
Marlon holds a Master in Disaster Management from Copenhagen University, Denmark and a Master Degree in Translation Studies, Linguistics and Cultural Studies from Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany. See also Marlon’s LinkedIn page.
