Yash Kadam
Yash is an Intern at PlanAdapt’s Coordination Hub based in Berlin, Germany.
Yash’s interests lie in supporting adaptation initiatives aimed at enhancing resilience of vulnerable communities exposed to climate risks in the Global South. He is particularly interested in exploring the co-benefits of ecosystem-based approach towards climate change adaptation.
His research interests lie in studying the political economy of climate change adaptation and gender transformative climate change adaptation.
Prior to joining PlanAdapt, Yash was associated with the United Nations Development Programme as City Project Coordinator and oversaw the implementation of project titled ‘Developing Resilient Cities through Risk Reduction in the context of Disaster and Climate Change’ in Mumbai, India. The project aimed at strengthening the capacities of local administration and communities towards climate risks by mainstreaming disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in developmental planning. He was also involved with the Adaptation at Scale in Semi-Arid Regions Project while working with Watershed Organization Trust, Pune, India. He supported the research on climate vulnerability and knowledge and perception of climate risks amongst rural communities in Western Maharashtra, India.
Yash is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy from Hertie School, Berlin, Germany. He holds a Masters in Climate Change and Sustainability Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India.
