Regina Vetter
Regina is a PlanAdapt Fellow, based in Munich, Germany.
Her core interest is working with cities on urban heat adaptation.
Regina has previously worked many years for C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, managing a network of 35+ cities on heat adaptation. She thereby collaborated with municipalities globally on topics such as heat & vulnerability mapping, heat emergency management, heat action planning & governance as well as long-term urban cooling solutions (esp. nature-based solutions). She thereby gained in-depth knowledge of international best practices of how cities are addressing urban heat challenges.
Regina started working as a part-time freelance consultant for city governments on urban heat in 2023. She supports, for example, the City of Munich in Germany on developing effective heat risk communication tools and community-level engagement processes that especially target the most heat-vulnerable groups such as elderly or children.
She also has a background in development cooperation, having worked with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit on climate adaptation, climate risk management, early-warning systems with partner countries, especially in Africa and Central Asia.
Regina holds a Masters’s Degree in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and Politics Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography & International Politics from Royal Holloway, University of London.
