Mulugeta Worku Ayele
Mulugeta is a founding network member of PlanAdapt, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
He has more than 13 years of work experience in leading, coordinating and managing projects and programmes focused on climate change adaptation and mitigation, disaster risk reduction, natural resources management, and livelihoods security for organisations such as Oxfam, Save the Children UK, and Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Association (CCRDA). His recent professional career was at Christian Aid in the capacity of Senior Programme Manager and was in charge of coordinating the DFID funded “Building resilience and adaptation to climate extremes and disasters (BRACED)’ programme by Christian Aid in Ethiopia. His experiences cover management and technical advice across a wide range of development and environmental topics, encompassing climate resilient green economy, gender and market based agricultural programmes, and emergency livelihoods.
Mulugeta holds a M.Sc. in Disaster Risk Science and Sustainable Development from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia and a B.Sc. in Agricultural and Extension from Haramaya University, Ethiopia. In addition, he is currently pursuing his PhD in Natural Resource Management (with a focus on climate change adaptation and mitigation) at Jimma University, Ethiopia.
