Nadine Raedel
Nadine is currently an intern at the PlanAdapt Coordination Hub in Berlin, Germany.
After completing a three-year training as a nurse in 2012 at the Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin she started working in an interdisciplinary Intensive Care Unit. After some time in the profession, she developed a special interest in planetary health as well as in environmental protection and started studying Ecology and Environmental Planning at the Technical University Berlin. Her personal interests are in climatology, meteorology, climate change adaptation and mitigation; in particular in relation to human health and social aspects.
Prior to joining PlanAdapt, she completed an internship at Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research at the research department for climate resilience. Nadine worked for the PIKee project dealing with environmental education and especially with creating awareness towards climate change and adaption.
Her goal now is to bring together both her studies and the experience she gained while working as a nurse which complements the projects dealing with the impacts of climate change on human society.
Nadine will finish her BSc degree in Ecology and Environmental Planning at Technical University Berlin, Germany, in late 2020. Her thesis will deal with heat-associated mortality in Berlin and Brandenburg, Germany. Subsequently, she plans to enter the postgraduate MSc programme in Ecology and Environmental Planning.
